Finally, I would review the coding guidelines to ensure all logic blocks strictly follow synthesizable RTL design rules and resolve any simulation-synthesis mismatches.

A setup timing violation appears in STA. How would you resolve it?

I would evaluate the critical path delay using Static Timing Analysis. To fix the violation, I would reduce the combinational logic depth between registers or introduce pipelining stages to split the long path. If the layout architecture allows, I would improve cells' placement to minimize routing delays or adjust clock constraints to fix clock skew issues.

Functional coverage is only 70%. What steps would you take?

I would review the functional coverage matrix to isolate uncovered cross-bins and illegal transition states. I would update the verification plan and write targeted, directed test cases alongside modified constrained-random constraints to hit specific boundary conditions. This ensures that all protocol states are thoroughly exercised to push functional coverage to 100%

During verification, an intermittent bug occurs only occasionally. How would you debug it?

I would reproduce the failure deterministically by running the simulation with the exact same initial random seed value. I would analyze the waveform traces in the simulation environment, examine the detailed transaction logs from the UVM monitors, and check system-verilog assertions to isolate the precise clock cycle and condition causing the failure.
